Elizabeth Austin's Rose Sonatafor piano and reciter will be performed by Christian Johnson with Dr. Pamela Starr reciting the poemsonApril 14 at 7:30pm at the Glenn Korff School of Music at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.The work explores the use of geometric forms found in the natural world as the basis for an overall musical form. It is an ongoing exploration of the idea of motivic fragments emerging into a theme, often taken from other composers works, through an epiphany. The poetry recited is by Rainer Maria Rilke.
