Atlanta community through lecture, panel discussions, master classes for
young musicians, a demonstration of our summer conservatory camp for
children, and a climactic concert featuring opera star Laquita Mitchell,
the Vega String Quartet, the Chancel Choir of First Congregational
Church, the Morehouse College Glee Club, and the Meridian Chorale and
soloists. Dwight Andrews is the Festival Artistic Director and Steven Darsey is Music
Director.
The Gala concert on Saturday, September 21 (7pm) will include "Personals" by T.J. Anderson, a Cantata for Narrator, Mixed Choir, and Brass Ensemble, as well as "Modes" for string quartet by Dorothy Rudd Moore. Performers will include Laquita Mitchell, soprano; will be performing at the 2013 festivalLaquita Mitchellwill be performing at the 2013 festivalTimothy Miller, tenor; the Vega String Quartet;Vega String QuartetVega String Quartet and the Meridian Chorale.
