Suite for String Quartet and Veena explores the color and beauty of five South Indian ragas. These melodic modes are the cornerstone of classical Carnatic music. Supported by the drone on Sa and Pa (1 & 5), the pitches of the raga unfold with ornamented lines of ascent and descent. The Veena plays with the strings and also improvises.
