Robert Yekovich

Biography

Robert Yekovich (b. 1955) was appointed dean of the school of music at the Shepherd School of Music at Rice University in 2003. Previous to this, he served as assistant dean of music at the North Carolina School of the Arts since 1989. He received his Bachelor of Music in 1978 and Master of Arts in 1980 from the University of Denver. He received his doctorate of Musical Arts from Columbia University. He is a member of the League of Composers/International Society for Contemporary Music -U.S. Section; the New York Guild of Composer; BMI; the North Carolina Composers Alliance; the American Music Center; and the American Composers Alliance.  Photo courtesy of Rice University Office of Media Relations.
