The new CD project Dragon, featuring the Alloy Saxophone Quartet and
Bill Perconti, will be released by Albany Records on Oct. 1. The CD will feature world-premiere
recordings of music by Allan Blank, Frederic Rzewski, Hilary Tann, Joan
Tower, and Joseph Waters.
Perconti also released a CD in 2011 The Saxophone Music of Allan Blank. Blank is one of the most prolific major
American composers for the saxophone. Saxophonist Bill Perconti is a
Professor of Music at Lewis-Clark State College. He has been an ardent
champion of American composers.
Perconti
has recorded twenty-two world-premier works on eleven
recordings since 1994 as a soloist and leader of the
Alloy Saxophone
Quartet, the LCSC
Chamber Players, and the
Idaho Saxophone Trio.
Percontis four solo/ensemble CDs are with Albany,
Centaur, and Crystal Records.
The 2013 release of his CD Women Composers and
Their Music for Saxophone is the first of its kind for
classical saxophone.
