League of Composers upcoming season begins January 25

Honoring
the loTime Table Percussionng-standing tradition of presenting new music by emerging and established
composers alongside masterpieces from the 20th and 21st centuries, The League
of Composers/ICSM is pleased to announce its 2010-2011 concert season.

The
season begins on January 25th at 8pm at Saint Peters Church (Lexington
Ave. and 54th St.) with the New York premiere of Grard Griseys monumental
60-minute work LNoir de L'toile (Black of the Star) for six
percussionists and astronomical transmissions, described by Grisey as an at
once musical, visual, theatrical, but also festive and didacticevent,"
performed by League/ISCM Chamber Players Matthew Gold and Matt Ward, fellow TimeTable Percussionist
Alex Lipowski and Talujon Percussion Quartet members Michael Lipsey, Chris
Graham, and Ian Antonio. Suggested Donation: $10
