JACK Quartet plays Elliott Carter, Amy Williams, Andrew Greenwald and David Liptak

JACK by Henrik OlundJACK will perform Amy Williams Richter Textures, recently composed for and recorded by the quartet. The program will also include Andrew Greenwalds revolutionary A thing is a hole in a thing it is not. as well as the world premiere of David Liptaks String Quartet No. 3. To close the show, JACK will tackle Elliott Carters rarely performed and explosively challenging String Quartet No. 3.

The JACK Quartet electrifies audiences worldwide with explosive virtuosity (Boston Globe) and viscerally exciting performances (New York Times). The recipient of Lincoln Centers Martin E. Segal Award, New Music USAs Trailblazer Award, and the CMA/ASCAP Award for Adventurous Programming, JACK is focused on the commissioning and performance of new works. Comprising violinists Christopher Otto and Ari Streisfeld, violist John Pickford Richards, and cellist Kevin McFarland, the quartet has performed to critical acclaim and worked with composers around the world. The members of the quartet met while attending the Eastman School of Music and studied closely with the Arditti Quartet, Kronos Quartet, Muir String Quartet, and members of the Ensemble Intercontemporain.
