The Australian Brass Quintet is comprised of some of Australias
foremost brass musicians. Its members have been performing together in
various ensembles for over fifteen years, and are held in the highest
regard as soloists and teachers, appearing regularly all over the world.
The Australian Brass Quintets performances are recognized for
their unique balance of established masterpieces and innovative new
works for the modern brass quintet. The ABQ is passionate about the
future of brass music. They are committed to the active commission and
performance of new dynamic works for brass quintet, and to the education
of younger audiences and future generations of musicians.

The American composer, Steven Sacco,
was born in Brooklyn, New York. His work
is performed internationally by some of todays leading soloists and ensembles.
Critics praise him for writing absorbing, poetic and passionate music that
easily engages the sympathies and attention of a concert audience. Past collaborations have included leading
artists and organizations such as The New York Philharmonic, The Electric
Phoenix, Speculum Musicae, The American Brass Quintet, The United States Army
Band Pershings Own, The Czech Nonet, composer & conductor Luciano Berio,
cellist Steven Isserlis, soprano Juliana Gondek, The Juilliard School, the
Tanglewood and Aspen Music Festivals, and the Deal Summer Music Festival in the
U.K., among others.
