Masterworks I: Resonance and Redemption
Experience the Texas premiere of the exhilarating Ring Shout Concerto for Percussion and Orchestra by Galveston native Dr. Frederick C. Tillis, performed by jazz percussionist Quincy Davis. This landmark work, composed for and originally premiered by Max Roach will make its long-awaited Texas debut — made all the more poignant by the fact that Dr. Tillis was one of the greatest BOI (Born on the Island) musicians of the last century. Music director and conductor Trond Saeverud will lead the orchestra.
