Composer's Note:

This quartet was written during the fall of 1989 while studying composition at the New England Conservatory of Music. Cast in a traditional three movement form of Fast-Slow-Fast, this quartet represents my first exploration of a long-form composition. The second movement was premiered in 1992 but the rest of the work remains unperformed.
