Collection: Tacke, Daniel

The music of Daniel Tacke has focused on vocabularies of sound and structure growing from explorations of instrumental idiom, the poetics of notation, human embodiment and memory in the experience of listening, and intersections between contemporary and historical practices of composition and performance. He studied composition at the Oberlin Conservatory of Music, where he was awarded the Robert E. Aschaffenburg Grand Prize in Composition, and then at the University of California at San Diego. He has held professorships at Oberlin Conservatory and Arkansas State University. Since 2016 he is Associate Professor of Music at Hillsdale College, teaching theory, musicianship, composition, and harpsichord.
