Opening night (doors open at 7:30pm) features 'THREE WORLD PREMIERES"
JACK Quartet performs the New York premiere ofLe journal du corps, a new work by Lewis Nielson. Audiences will hear/see the world premiere of Self-Portrait*, a multi-media creation for piano, cello and video by Michael Brown and Nick Canellakis. The Brown-Canellakis duo also performs Grave by Lutoslawski and Bulgarian Folk Tunes Gankino Horo & Daichovo Horo, arranged by Nicholas Canellakis. Michael Brown performs the solo piano piece Short Sonata by George Perle, and acappella group TheM6 performs Basket Rondo by Meredith Monk. The Look & Listen Festival (L&L) is an annual 3-concert New
York City event presenting new music in art galleries. The goal is to
expand audiences for both art forms. For the second consecutive year, Look & Listen has partnered with
Pratt Institutes Pratt Manhattan Gallery for its three concerts
including three world premieres to be held in conjunction with the
Gallerys Graduate Fine Arts 2013 exhibition.
