February happenings - ACA is all over the place

ACA composers are featured at the SCI conference at Ohio State Feb. 13-16,
including works by Elizabeth Austin, Marilyn Shrude, and Brian Bevelander. James Paul Sain will take the post of President of SCI this year. The
hurricane-postponed world-premiere of Lawrence Dillon’s Seven Stories will be this
week at DROM in New York.

Brian Utley and Melissa Rose played David Froom's "Turn of
Events" Feb 2 at the
Blair School of Vanderbilt University - the second of four performances
of Froom's new work for alto saxophone and piano planned this year.

Matthew Greenbaum and David Gordon will have piano works
performed at Música para Piano de las Américas on Feb. 9th at Mannes. John Eaton
is featured in an all-Eaton concert at DiMenna on Feb. 25th. Elizabeth Bell’s
Kaleidoscope will receive its premiere on Feb. 10th at Bruno Walter Auditorium.
Book of Whimsy, a series of dedications for solo piano by Steven Sacco, will be
performed by David Oei on Tuesday, Feb. 26th at Mannes. The premiere of
Lamentation for cello and piano, by Richard Brooks, will take place Feb. 19th at
the New York Composers Circle Concert at Citicorp Center.

A concert of original music and improvisation by Glenn
Stallcop
for the series Arts Alive, on February 24th in Phoenix, with special guests Joe Corral, flute and
Jan Simiz, cello. The world premiere of Texture for Chamber Orchestra by Elliott Schwartz, first composed in 1966 and revised 2013, will be presented by Ensemble Mise-En at the Cell Theatre in New York City.  (continued)

March and April will bring performances of music by Louis Karchin (Ensemble: Périphérie) Michael Dellaira (Columbia University Glee Club), William DeFotis (Peninsula Women's Choir), and a special event "Out of the Darkness" for large orchestra, by Dane Rudhyar, will be performed by the Cleveland Orchestra. Richard Cameron-Wolfe and Christopher Shultis will have works performed at the Composers Symposium in Albuquerque; New World Records is planning the release of an all Burr Van Nostrand CD in April
