Hear Something New: TAK performs music from the American Composers Alliance, May 29th

TAK is Laura Cocks, Liam Kinson, Marina Kifferstein, Ellery Trafford, and Charlotte Mundy.  TAK is a New York based chamber ensemble who seeks to deliver energetic and virtuosic performances of contemporary classical music through their, “restless strands of ever-shifting color and vigor,”(Feast of Music). They frequently collaborate with video and installation artists and experimental theater to create immersive concert experiences.

TAK has had the pleasure of working with esteemed composers, Sam Pluta, Marek Poliks, Mario Diaz de Leon, Natacha Diels, David Bird, Taylor Brook, Halldór Smárason, John Rot, and others. They have performed throughout New York City in spaces such as Roulette (for Roulette’s 35th birthday party/benefit), New Amsterdan Records Headquarters, DiMenna Center for Classical Music, Issue Project Room. They were recently invited by the Oberlin Modern Music Guild to give a masterclass and performance in the Oberlin Conservatory's Fairchild Chapel and to work with the graduate composers of Columbia University for the December Columbia Composers Concert.
