Robert Carl's symphonic work, White Heron will be performed by the Fairfax Symphony Concert Series, Christopher Zimmerman, conductor, on April 23, 2022, at the Center for the Arts at George Mason University, in Fairfax, VA.
For compositional inspiration, Composer Robert Carl draws frequently on memories of landscapes that have impressed him. This concert opens with the Regional Premiere of his recent work, White Heron, inspired by a visit to the Florida Keys. He says of his music, “If there is exhilaration or a gentle transcendence, then I've done my job." White Heron…is an “attractive feat of musical imagism.” —Gramophone
