Nomads-Oasis featuring music by Richard Cameron-Wolfe and Scott L. Miller, Minneapolis, July 30

Composers Richard Cameron-Wolfe (New Mexico), Agustin Castilla-Avila (Spain), and Wladimir Rosinskij (Austria), along with pianist Gayle Blankenburg (California) and cellist Ruslana Prokopenko (Ukraine), travel the planet in search of “oases” - fertile environments for new collaborations, new audiences, and new musical offerings. The group will converge at Studio Z on July 30th for "Nomads-Oasis," a concert featuring music by the nomads and Minnesota composer Scott L. Miller.

Featured performers include cellist Ruslana Prokopenko (Ukraine), pianist Gayle Blankenburg (California), guitarist Agustín Castilla-Ávila (Spain) along with outstanding Minnesota musicians James DeVoll (flute), Pat O’Keefe (clarinet), and Tracey Engleman (soprano). All four of the composers will be in attendance.

Highlights of the program include two world premieres and three U.S. premieres by Castilla-Avila and Rosinskij, plus a solo piano work by Richard Cameron-Wolfe dedicated to the late composer Franz Kamin, who lived in St. Paul for many years.
