At Our Peril by Robert Scott Thompson has been included on the latest album from Difficult Art And Music, "bivouac of the avant-garde: contemporary minimal, electronic and experimental music, vol.1." For their latest - and largest - release, DAAM has put together an expansive compilation of some of the best ‘difficult’ music being made today, a 3 volume set covering an International roster of contemporary minimal, electronic, and experimental artists. The albums include offerings from heavy-hitters such as Isaac Helsen & Tyresta (of Past Inside the Present fame), Karen Vogt (of Heligoland), and Robert Scott Thompson (Aucourant records), alongside a host of up-and-coming artists fresh from the rosters of some of the most exciting labels out there. With a remit to explore the challenging and the strange, ‘Bivouac of the avantgarde’ features a host of composers building a name for themselves in the burgeoning experimental scene, with further contributions from the likes of Chelidon Frame, Audio Obscura, J.Lynch and Distant Animals, to name but a few. Clocking in at almost 5 hours, and with 48 artists, the set is nothing if not comprehensive, and offers a fascinating look at the nebulous and far-reaching experimental, electronic, and post-classical scene.
