Wiretap

Composer's Note:

Wiretap (2021) for mandolin, guitar, and harp was commissioned by Trios Polycordes, a France-based trio of plucked strings dedicated to contemporary music. The piece is based on a recursive series of two-note chords (dyads) that are largely deployed polymetrically. The effect is of an off-kilter dance in the outer sectiMons with a more atmospheric center (a metaphoric candy bar, of sorts).

I would like to thank the members of the trio, Florentino Calvo, Jean-Marc Zvellenreuther, and Sandrine Chatron for the commission and for their incredible musicianship. I would also like to thank Millay Arts for the time afforded me by an artist’s residency during which I composed much of the work.
