A multimedia retrospective of the Romanian-born composer’s music. His years in New York City are reflected throughout his works in this program, including SONATA FOR THE PIANO, TAI CHI ON THE HUDSON for string quartet and animation, SYNESTHESIA, a visualization by Michel Gagné of Costinescu’s DOTS, LINES, AND PATCHES, and CITY WAVES: A Portrait in Sound. The program will illustrate his creativity as a composer and graphic artist and will feature live performances of some of New York’s finest musicians who have championed Costinescu’s music over the years, including soprano Lucy Shelton, and pianist Stephen Gosling. Additional artists performing include the Voxare Quartet, trumpeter Aaron Kahn, and soprano Yungee Rhie.
