The event marks the release of Miller’s new album "Tipping Point" with music from the CD and the reprise of Shape Shifting: Shades of Transformation, a lush electro-acoustic musical landscape with sensuous poetry by Phillipe Costaglioli.

Guest artists include soprano Tracey Engleman, the return of Zeitgeist veteran pianist Shannon Wettstein (sitting in for Nicola Melville), and an encore performance on June 13 by electroacoustic improvisation ensemble Fifth Column (Scott Miller & Brett Wartchow, electronics; Pat O’Keefe & Nathan Hanson, woodwinds; Erik Fratzke, guitars).

Scott Miller’s new CD, Tipping Point, chronicles a long collaborative relationship between himself and Minneapolis based new music ensemble, Zeitgeist. Their relationship started in 2003, when Miller composed Shape Shifting: Shades of Transformation, a concert-length work of ten pieces involving interactive electronics, improvisation, and spoken word settings of poetry by Felip Costaglioli. Since then, Miller’s activities have included the creation of more than 20 compositions for Zeitgeist and its members, dozens of performances together throughout the United States and Europe, and numerous recordings for the ensemble and its members.
