World premiere of John Eaton's Songs of Nature and Beyond - Sunday Sept. 23 at Le Poisson Rouge

David Adam Moore, baritonePianist Inna Faliks and special guests are featured at the Music/Words
5th Season opening at Le Poisson Rouge on Sunday, September 23rd. Program includes the world premiere of John Eaton’s
“Songs of Nature and Beyond”, with baritone David Adam Moore; Fantasia
on an Ostinato by John Corigliano; and Beethoven’s Sonata in C minor.
Corigliano’s poetic shimmering composition uses Beethoven’s Ostinato
from the 7th Symphony, and explores its rhythmic and harmonic elements
in a hypnotic, colorful fantasy. Eaton’s song cycle is set to the poetry
by Auden, Blackmur, Wallace Stevens, and W.B Yeats, and poet Sandra
Beasley’s lucid and fresh voice completes the link between then and now.
