T.J. Anderson's TRANSITIONS - presented by Canadian Chamber Orchestra Without Borders, Feb. 16th
T.J. AndersonT.J. AndersonT.J. Anderson's TRANSITIONS (A Fantasy for 10 instruments) will be performed in concert at Crossroads:
Orchestral music by Black composers (part of Chamber
Orchestra Without Borders Series) on Sunday, February
16, 2014 at Shaw Performing Arts Centre,
2 Forks Market Road in Winnepeg.
In addition to the music of T.
J. Anderson, the concert, conducted by Larry Strachan, will also fetaure works by Howard Swanson, Julia Perry, Errollyn Wallen, and Ed Bland and
will feature soloist, Heulwen Jones (mezzo-soprano).
Tickets
are $15 for adults and $10 for students/youth and are available at McNally
Robinson Booksellers, at the door, or by calling (204) 504-2185.
Funding and support has been provided by the Manitoba
Arts Council and the Winnipeg Arts Council.

Chamber Orchestra Musaic, under the auspices of
Chamber Orchestra Without Borders Inc., is led by music director Larry Strachan, and is a non-profit organization promoting the
cultural mosaic of Winnipeg through orchestral music. The organization has been
in operation for 7 years and is lead by artistic director, Larry Strachan.
Larry holds a Master’s degree in Orchestral Conducting from Shenandoah
University in Virginia and is a graduate of the University of Manitoba School
of Music. Previous programs from Chamber Orchestra Musaic include ‘Awakening’
(2010), ‘Steal Away’ (2009), and ‘Journey from Africa’ (2008).

Maestro Strachan will also conduct the Canadian Kitchener-Waterloo Chamber Orchestra, at Knox Waterloo in Waterloo, ON on Sunday, April 27, 2014 in a program of Mozart, Elgar, and others. The doors open at 2:15PM. Advance tickets will be available on Ticketscene until Sunday, April 27, 2014 10:59 AM.
