Region III SCI Festival includes performance of Resonant Images by Brian Bevelander

Resonant images (for Mezzo soprano and piano) by Ohio composer Brian Bevelander will be performed at the Region III SCI Festival at Marshall University in Huntington, W Va.   Performers will include Brian Bevelander, piano, and Soprano Renee Clair.   The festival runs from  February 25-27, 2016.

Brian Bevelander is a composer/pianist, born in Boston Massachusetts and educated at the New England Conservatory of Music, Hartt College of Music, Boston University, and West Virginia University. His principal composition teachers include Thomas Canning at West Virginia University and Hugo Norden at Boston University. Besides teaching composition and piano at Heidelberg College in Ohio, he has been the recipient of several composition awards, residencies and fellowships. Many of his electroacoustic compositions have enjoyed a number of performances and broadcasts in Europe as well as the United States. In addition to his electroacoustic compositions, his works include chamber and orchestral music, concertos and solo pieces.

The Society of Composers, Inc. is a professional society dedicated to the promotion, performance, understanding and dissemination of new and contemporary music. Members include composers both in and outside academia interested in addressing these concerns on a national and regional level. The governing body of the Society is comprised of a National Council made up of co-chairs who represent regional activities, and an Executive Committee made up of the editors and directors of Society publications and projects.
