Music of Lewis Nielson, Tenri Institute in New York City, April 8th

Lewis Nielson and Friends present a concert at the Tenri Institute (43A W 13th St) in New York city on April 8, 2016, upon which several works will be performed, featuring some of NY's finest young performers as well as two exquisite performers from San Diego, CA who will give the premiere of a work of music theatre written expressly for them: Il Romanticismo di Lucrezia e Cesare, based upon the controversial and ultimately tragic life of Lucrezia Borgia.

Outstanding singer/actress/dancer Sara Perez and bass virtuoso Matt Kline will perform this new work, which uses poetry from the various courts of Italy of the time, including poetry by Michelangelo, Lorezno de Medici, Annibal Caro, Petrarca, and Cino da Pistoia, among others.

The brilliant guitarist Jordan Dodson will perform Nielson's Serenata Negro, and flutist Laura Cocks and percussionist Ellery Trafford, members of Ensemble TAK, along with cellist Meaghan Burke, will contribute a performance of Iskra.

Concert time is 8:00 pm and we hope to see you there. Suggested donation  $10
