Miriam Gideon's setting of "To Thomas Moore" will be performed at Oxford, Oct. 19th
Gillian Keith, Simon LepperGillian Keith  (soprano), Matthew Hargreaves (bass-baritone) & Simon Lepper (pianist) will be performing music on texts of Burns, Byron, and Moore - three poets whose far-reaching influence in song may be surprising. From traditional Celtic melodies to songs by Schumann, Loewe and Berlioz, Gillian Keith (visiting Oxford Lieder for the first time), Matthew Hargreaves and Simon Lepper explore a rich array of settings. Miriam Gideon's setting "To Thomas Moore" with text by Lord Byron, from her work Poet to Poet, is scheduled to be performed. Holywell Music Room, £25  More info here

Pianist Simon Lepper is a professor of piano accompaniment at the Royal College of Music, London where he also co-ordinates the piano accompaniment course. He is an official accompanist for BBC Cardiff Singer of the World Competition.

The concert is part of Oxford Lieder Festival 2015: 16th - 31st October.
