Elliott Schwartz new work SNAPSHOTS featured at Walden Festival in New Hampshire, July 26th

FRIDAY, JULY 26, 7:30 pm

The popular Concert Series returns for 2013 with a
five-week season across the Monadnock Region of NH. All concerts are
free and open to the public.

On July 26th, Walden’s “house band” of exceptional performers present an electric
concert of contemporary music to kick off Festival Week. This year’s
Players are Jane Cords O’Hara, cello; Jane Chung, violin; Russell Greenberg, percussion; Tawnya Popoff, viola; Jessi Rosinski, flutes; Christa Van Alstine, clarinets; and Aaron Wunsch, piano. Concert to feature works by composers George Lewis and David Ludwig, and a brand new work by ELLIOTT SCHWARTZ, SNAPSHOTS, for flute, viola, and percussion.

Every year since 1973, The Walden School has offered free public
concerts that have drawn enthusiastic audiences of music lovers to its
New England venues.

The 2013 season offers superb musicians representing diverse genres
and musical styles, all presenting ambitious programs with music ranging
from the New Orleans jazz, contemporary improvised and electronic
music, music of George Crumb, Henry Cowell, Samuel Barber and John Cage,
world premieres by Walden faculty members, and contemporary works by
George Lewis, David Ludwig, and Caroline Mallonée, among many others.
