David Froom's Canzoni di Notte, world premiere Chesapeake Orchestra, July 14

The Chesapeake Orchestra with Jeffrey Silberschlag, Music Director, continues its River Concert Series this summer with "Muy Caliente" on July 14, featuring music of David Froom, Astor Piazzolla, Manuel de Falla, and Alan Silvestri. Featured soloist for Froom's Canzoni di Notte is clarinetist Janice Murphy. Ms. Murphy recently retired from “The President’s Own” United States Marine Band in Washington, D.C., where she held a position in the first clarinet section for 26 years. She currently plays in the Alexandria Symphony and has performed with the Annapolis Symphony, the Baltimore Chamber Orchestra, Capital City Opera, and the Opera of Northern Virginia. Composer David Froom’s music has been performed extensively throughout the United States by major orchestras, ensembles, and soloists, including, among many others, the Louisville, Seattle, Utah, League/ISCM, and Chesapeake Symphony Orchestras, The United States Marine and Navy Bands, the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center, the 21st Century Consort, Boston Musica Viva, the New York New Music Ensemble, the Haydn Trio Eisenstadt, and the Aurelia Saxophone Quartet.
