The panel "Synapse" will be part of the conference-- Bridges -- and will investigate the intersections between traditional and emerging technologies in graphics and printmaking.

The musical work, first performed in 2010, is designed for performance as a multi-media “event,” employing visual projections of art work by Dorothy Schwartz and recorded sounds (these two elements linked together and synchronized via iMovie),  plus live performance by an improvisation chamber ensemble. During the course of the piece, players recite spoken phrases from the writings of Charles Darwin.
