Circling by David Froom - premiere of version for two saxophones, March 10
The Perrine-Utley Saxophone Duo will give a free concert on Thursday, March 10, 2016 at 7:30 p.m. at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, Hulsey Recital Hall, 9501 13th St. South.
 
Saxophonists John Perrine and Brian Utley are both regular guest artists and clinicians at universities and secondary schools throughout the country. Perrine is Associate Professor of Music at Cleveland State University in Ohio, where he teaches saxophone, directs the jazz ensembles, and serves as the Coordinator of Jazz Studies.

Brian Utley is Adjunct Associate Professor of Saxophone at Vanderbilt University’s Blair School of Music, and has been a featured soloist with the Vanderbilt Wind Symphony, Shreveport Symphony Orchestra, Nashville Symphony, Jackson Symphony, and the Nashville-based contemporary music ensemble, Intersection.
 
The program will include the world premieres of “Sonata: Folie à Deux” by UAB Associate Professor of Music William Price, and “Circling” for two saxophones by David Froom; “The Garden of Love” for alto saxophone and fixed media by JacobTV; "Caprice en forme de valse" by Paul Bonneau; and “Rush Hour” for tenor saxophone and fixed media by William Price.
