Detail
Description
A string quartet in 3 movements: 1-Alpha; 2-Convergence; 3-Omega. Based on the philosophical writings of Pierre Teilhard de Chardin, it expresses his vision of the evolutionary process of human behavior through the incorporation of various songs and chants which represent most of the world cultures, and brings them into ever closer inter-dependence in each succeeding movment. The piece utilizes many extended notational devices, including proportational notation, as well as extended performance techniques. High difficulty - advanced performers only.
