Composer's Note:
South Mountain Sunset was commissioned in celebration of Louise Brown's completion of the Doctor of Musical Arts in Viola Performance. The piece is the first work completed in my new home of Phoenix, Arizona. The composition was inspired by the great beauty of the American Southwest, particularly the stunning sunsets witnessed each summer evening over the majestic South Mountains.
