Description
Theme and 6 variations, composed in 1967 at the request of Mary S. Tucker, and premiered by pianist Leon Bates. The theme has two contrasting elements - a lyrical and melodic opening, followed by a fast, disjunct collection of fragmented sounds and arpeggios. Provides ample opportunity for technical display.
