Detail

Description

Star Bright was composed in 2009 for the Eastman Musica Nova Ensemble and Brad Lubman, who is the director of the ensemble and my long-time colleague at the Eastman School of Music. The work is a fantasy for piano solo and instrumental ensemble: a one-movement exploration of lightness and clarity. The musc was also written in memory of composer Salvatore Martirano, a musician of profound talent and imagination, whose star burned, perhaps, too brightly for this world.

New edition available 2015.
