Samuel Wellman was born in 1951 in Anderson, Ind., and has taught at Liberty University in Lynchburg, Va., since 1992. He holds degrees in music education, theory, and composition from Lenoir-Rhyne University (B.A.) and the Florida State University (M.M. and D.M.). His original compositions and hymn arrangements are available from American Composers Alliance, the Lorenz Corporation, LifeWay Christian Resources, the Boston Music Company, Augsburg Fortress, the Frederick Harris Music Company, Selah Publishing Company, and Warner Bros. He teaches piano, music theory, and choral arranging at Liberty University; appears frequently as a soloist and accompanist; and is recognized for his exceptional sight-reading skills and his ability to accompany the most difficult works with relative ease.
