Description
A work in four brief sections, named for the alchemical elements: earth, air, fire, and water. The piano is "prepared", with individual keys wedged down (raising the dampers; keys thus unplayable) before each section in order to progressively build a cloud of sympathetic resonance - affecting the timbre of the played notes and "illuminating" the rests.
