Michael Rothkopf

Biography

A composer of chamber, electronic, orchestral and vocal music, Michael S. Rothkopf (b. 1955) has been actively involved in the creation and performance of contemporary music for over 40 years. 

His compositions have been noted for their "remarkable sensuousness" and their evocative ability to create a "sense of time and occasion." His recent work has focused on creating interactive music involving digital technology and artificial intelligence as part of the compositional design.

Currently Professor of Music at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts – School of Music, Dr. Rothkopf teaches composition, graduate and undergraduate music technology, graduate music history and theory review, and graduate career strategies courses.
