Two Songs on Poems of Beth Levin

Composer's Note:

Concert pianist Beth Levin reveals a gift for poetry as well as for pianism. The two poems set here are a musical response to the acute precision and lack of extraneous ornamentation of the texts, which bring to mind the Imagists as well as the tradition of Haiku. These songs are dedicated to and composed for the Jessica Bowers and Oren Fader, who have distinguished themselves individually and as a duo in many public performances around the world.
