Setting: The American South, just prior to the Civil War
Story based on Blake; or The Huts of America: A Tale of the Mississippi Valley, the Southern United States, and Cuba, novel by Martin Delany, initially published in two parts: The first in 1859 by the Anglo-African Magazine (AAM), and the second, during the earlier part of the American Civil War, in 1861-62 by the Weekly Anglo-African Magazine (WAA).
H. Leslie Adams and the Blake team would like to express much gratitude for the underwriting of the new 2021 edition of Blake, full score and parts, funded by Cindy Friedmann, Dependable Painting Company, Cleveland, OH.
