Description

Composer's Note:

Threads, for large wind ensemble, was composed for the Ohio State University Wind Ensemble and its conductor Craig Kirchhoff. This ensemble had previously performed my composition Soundings, written a few years earlier. Threads is somewhat a companion to Soundings, and it is similar in instrumentation and duration. Cast in one movement with two large sections, the music is woven together by threads of similar musical ideas that recur throughout the work.
