Pianist Marc Peloquin will play a concert of music by composer-pianists, including Chopin, Schubert, Schumann, David Del Tredici, and ACA composer Lionel Nowak at the Calvary Lutheran Church in Silver Spring, MD on Sunday, October 4 at 3 PM.
Peloquin has been working with the estate of composer Lionel Nowak for several years to complete a double set of solo piano recordings of works by the composer. Some are newly recorded by Peloquin, some are recorded for the first time, and some have been re-mastered from existing recordings made under the composer’s supervision, and have been recorded by pianists Claude Frank and Allen Shawn. Nowak’s works Six Pieces for Young Musicians, Three Bagatelles, Suite for Days Remembered, and Etude will be performed on this program.
LIONEL NOWAK: Music for Solo Piano 1942-82 is scheduled for release in December 2015.
