Steven Gerber world premiere San Francisco Symphony

Vladimir Ashkenazy will conduct the San Francisco Symphony in the
world premiere of Steven Gerber's "Music in Dark Times," a 16-minute
orchestral work written for and dedicated to Maestro Ashkenazy. There
will be 4 performances in Davies Hall, San Francisco on March 25, 26,
27, and 28, 2009. A CD of three of Gerber's orchestral works --
Spirituals for string orchestra, Clarinet Concerto, and Serenade
Concertante for 2 violins, strings, and harp -- was recently released
on the Arabesque label.
