Travelogue, a five-movement suite for flute and
contrabass, was composed in the spring of 1989 for Nancy and Bertram Turetzky.
Its movements are intended as "souvenirs" of a few of the locations
where the Turetzkys have held residences or been featured artists, including
Mexico, Poland, Australia, and the Isle of Man. This work has been performed in
Australia and Mexico, at the King's Lynn Festival in Britain, and on American
new-music programs from Portland, Maine to San Diego, California.
