Extensions for piano was composed in 2000 and first performed by Shen Wen in Jordan Hall, Boston. The work is continuous and contiguous. While in form there are hints of both the rondo and the sonata the work in fact starts at the beginning and proceeds for about six minutes dwelling upon favored tunes along the way.
