1992 micro-opera Lonesome Dove – A True Story will be presented on the
April 6, 2014 opening concert of the 43rd annual John Donald Robb Composers’
Symposium
- at 5:00PM in Keller Hall at the University of New
Mexico-Albuquerque. Lonesome Dove is scored for tenor saxophonist,
“watcher” (dancer), and “portable darkness”. The production features
saxophonist Sarah Mae Jenkins, Luz Guillen, dancerLuz GuillenLuz Guillen, and a critical third element
- designed by Richard Hess.  This year’s Symposium is subtitled “Beyond
Borders” and its participants include New
Mexico, national, and international composers and
musicians.
