A work for solo horn and string orchestra, in three continuous sections contained within a single movement. The brief prologue features widely spaced string sonorities and a declamatory horn part; the aria is more lyrical, with momentary references to the prologue; the dance is driving and rhythmic, with a good deal of syncopation. The music of the prologue makes another brief appearance before the rushing coda. Difficult - suitable for college, community, or professional orchestras.
